While the world ushers in a new decade, Orlando is treating visitors to all kinds of new attractions for 2020. Visitors can enjoy new rides, dine at new restaurants and see new sights. Here’s what you have to look forward to opening in Orlando in 2020:
This year has a lot to live up to after 2019 saw the opening of blockbuster attractions like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios© and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal Studios Orlando.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios© will open another exciting ride in 2020, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Mickey Mouse has never played a starring role in any ride until March 4, when the Runaway Railway opens. The rides turns 2D cartoons into an exciting 3D experience.
Over at Epcot©, guests will be treated to new shows and films. Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along will find a home at the World Showcase France pavilion and Awesome Planet will screen at The Land. Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360 gets an update and HarmonioUS will replace Epcot Forever. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at the France pavilion lets you experience Gusteau’s restaurant from Chef Remy’s point-of-view.
The infamous Cirque du Soleil will delight guests at Disney Springs with the Cirque du Soleil: Drawn to Life show.
Fans of the Bourne movie series will flip over The Bourne Stuntacular, a live-action stunt show combining stage and cinema. It opens at Universal Studios Orlando this spring. Opening its first launch coaster, SeaWorld Orlando debuts Ice Breaker in 2020. The ride includes four launches and the steepest vertical drop in the state.
Aquatica Orlando opens the first-ever dueling water slide in Florida with 650 feet of slide. ICON park will get two new rides, the Orlando Slingshot, shooting you 450 feet into the air, and the Orlando Gyro Drop Tower, taking you 400 feet into the air and dropping you straight down.
Pointe Orlando is getting a $32 million makeover and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will also get a facelift. The Orlando Science Center opens Pompei—The Immortal City exhibit from June to September.
